It Started with an Apple

Not a business plan. Not a startup pitch. Zest & Zen started with a single apple, a borrowed dehydrator, and a university student tired of surviving on junk between lectures.

Campus life meant vending machines, packaged chips, and “fruit snacks” that hadn’t seen real fruit in years — coated in sugar, pumped with preservatives, designed to look healthy while being anything but. I wanted something real. Something I could feel good about eating during a 3am study session.

So I went back to basics. One apple. One process. Zero shortcuts.

The result stopped me in my tracks: slow-dried apple that tasted more intensely of apple than anything fresh. Chewy, naturally sweet, concentrated. I shared bags with hostel mates, then coursemates — and they kept asking for more.

That’s how Zest & Zen began. Every pack is still made the same honest way: real fruit, slow-dried, nothing fake. From our kitchen in Karachi to your door.
